Course Modifications to Improve Inclusion of Gender Issues in Engineering Design

Teaching Documents

The following are documents that I have made for various Teaching and Research Assistant jobs at Ryerson University. They focus on Engineering Design, and Graphical Communication.

The measured impact of these documents on the course were presented at the CEEA 2019 Conference, and in this paper:

Inclusive Design Resource Base

Through my research position addressing diversity and inclusion in a second year engineering university course, I collected a list of useful resources. They cover accessible and inclusive design issues and strategies, as well as gender and sex issues in engineering and design contexts.

Teaching Inclusive Design

TA/GA Training Document

Accompanying the course changes I proposed in my RA position, I developed a training guide for some of the diversity and inclusion topics discussed. It is written to be course specific, but also contains general suggestions for improved teaching techniques, and dealing with the common conflicts that may arise from these subjects
